How Does Collagen Transforms the Skin?
What Types of Collagen Does QMS Use?
QMS Medicosmetics is a pioneer in collagen technology. They were the first to launch a 97% skin-identical collagen in cosmetics 30 years ago. In 2024, QMS launched the first 100% skin-identical, micromolecular collagen (COLLAgen3D™).

Bovine Collagen (97% skin-identical)
QMS was the first to launch 97% skin-identical collagen in cosmetics 30 years ago, which is still considered an iconic innovation. This bovine collagen has only one amino acid difference compared to human collagen and, being from a warm-temperature mammal, is said to last longer on the skin compared to marine collagen. QMS uses Atelocollagen, a smaller molecule of bovine collagen where the telomeres are cut enzymatically to increase penetration and bioavailability in the skin, reaching the granular layer of the epidermis.

Marine Collagen
Derived from marine sources, marine collagen is renowned for its superior moisturizing and firming properties, making it highly effective in skincare formulations. Due to its small molecular size, marine collagen easily penetrates the skin, helping to restore hydration, improve elasticity, and strengthen the skin’s structural integrity. Marine collagen is especially beneficial for dry, dehydrated, or mature skin types seeking intensive hydration and anti-aging benefits.

100% Skin-Identical
In 2024, QMS launched the first 100% skin-identical, micromolecular collagen. This COLLAgen3D™ is a micromolecular collagen (7.5 kDa) produced through a biotechnology-derived process by assembling the same amino acids found in human collagen and implanting them in a yeast culture. This "bottom-up" process makes it vegan and offers advantages like consistency, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. It offers 100% skin-like biocompatibility and is designed for powerful effects on all skin layers, protecting and enhancing the skin's native collagen while reducing signs of aging. It is a key component of the new Precision Care line.
